A Vessel Safety Check is a courtesy examination of your vessel to verify the presence and condition of certain safety equipment required by state and federal regulations.
The vessel examiner is a trained specialist and a member of either the U.S. Power Squadrons or the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. They will also make certain recommendations and discuss certain safety issues that will make you a safer boater.

Southern Maryland Marine will survey your vessel prior to you leaving on your next excursion.
This survey is designed to insure that your vessel has all of the necessary elements to make a long passage, or even a short jaunt. We will verify all of your safety equipment, medical equipment, and your emergency preparedness plan. In addition we verify that the necessary systems of the vessel are in good working order, and that they are not heading for an issue.
Our pre excursion surveys include the hull, helm, interior, exterior, and engines/generator, all life sustaining equipment, safety equipment, medical equipment, and electronics. This survey also includes assistance with route planning and charting, and provides you with a list of additional items that you may be missing. Upon completion of this survey you will be provided with a report outlining the recommendations for a safe passage.

The professional staff here at Southern Maryland Marine will completely coordinate the vessel survey with the buyer, the seller, and the marina. We will complete your survey in a timely fashion, and provide you with both a paper and digital version.
Our pre purchase surveys are all inclusive; One price includes the hull, helm, interior, exterior, and engines/generator complete with compression tests and a sea trial, as well as the copies of the completed report.
